About The Role

Do have knowledge and understanding of Human Resource (HR) processes through working in an HR administration capacity? Looking to develop your HR career?

At NCC we have created a new role, an HR support apprenticeship. Our HR support apprenticeship will equip you with the skills to handle day to day HR queries, provide HR advice as well as work on a range of HR processes ranging in complexity. You’ll use HR systems to keep accurate records, provide HR information in a timely manner, using company policy and current law.

Duration

Working closely with SGS College, the apprenticeship is delivered over 18 months (with an additional 3-month End Point Assessment). The EPA has two elements; a consultative project and a professional discussion.

Programme Delivery

Attend College (remotely or on campus) one day a week at SGS College Filton Campus. 70% of the taught element will be over Microsoft Teams and 30% in the classroom.  

Programme Structure

The program covers a range of essential topics in HR support, including:

  • Business, Culture, and Change in Context
  • Principles of Analytics
  • Core Behaviours for People and Professionals
  • Essentials for People Practice

They will learn through a combination of taught sessions, activities based on case studies and via self-study. The assessments are through written assignments.

Outcome

At the end of the apprenticeship, your apprentice will achieve an industry recognised

Level 3 apprenticeship as well as a CIPD Foundation Certificate in People Practice.

Entry Requirements

Maths and English Level 2

(We provide functional skills lessons, offered alongside your apprenticeship, to those who have not achieved a level 2 or equivalent in Maths and English).We will assess your current literacy and numeracy levels as part of the application and interview process).

What you’ll be doing when not at College

  • Providing HR administration support to the team on full lifecycle employee administration.
  • Support the learning and development team with administrative duties and support large scale events.
  • Ensure all HR records are maintained accurately and to a high standard.
  • Support the recruitment team with administration activities such as ensuring job descriptions are up-to-date and stored correctly.

Interview and what to expect

We will ask you to attend an in-person interview at NCC which will last up to one hour.

You will meet two colleagues in HR who will ask you questions about your experience to date and why you think an apprenticeship is the right way forward for you to develop.

You will also be given time to ask any questions that you have about us, or the programme.
