Management Accountant 12 month FTC

Here at NCC, we have fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team on a 12-month fixed term contract.
You’ll report to the Financial Controller and ensure that the Financial Accounting data contained in, and produced by NCC’s finance system is reliable, accurate, and timely.
Examples of specific responsibilities:
- Own the accounting data produced via the month-end process ensuring that the data used is consistent and accurate and accounting entries and appropriately classified.
- Production of month end journals including income, deferred income, payroll recharges, depreciation, accruals and prepayments and intercompany, including planning and preparation of the month-end timetable, identification of task owners etc
- Be accountable for monthly balance sheet reconciliations and control accounts, ensuring all reconciliations are complete, accurate and reconciling items are appropriately actioned.
- Dealing with complex and non-standard ad-hoc requests to support the requirements of the business units. Where changes are required to the cost-accounting system, this role will be responsible for ensuring that the relevant changes are implemented in timely manner, whilst maintaining relevant controls over the finance system.
- Participate to all HMRC Company related meetings and communications.
- Responsible for RDEC process for internal project teams whilst preserving a robust claim maximising potential year on year value of £1.5m+
- Implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of appropriate financial and commercial control and reporting systems and processes.
- Agreeing SLA’s with the University of Bristol finance team and providing financial information in line with these SLA’s.
So, what are we looking for?
We are open to people with backgrounds in different fields however if you have exposure to Engineering, Manufacturing or Research & Development industries, that would be advantageous. Specific experience we will look for in your CV would include;
- Qualified ACCA, CIMA, ACA or qualified by experience
- Advanced level skill in MS Excel.
- Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
- Flexible attitude and willingness to undertake a variety of activities.
